《诗经·卫风》

本诗出自《诗经·卫风》，是先秦时期卫国的一首描述爱情的民歌，也是传诵最广的《诗经》名篇之一。

This poem is one of Airs of Watch in The Book of Songs, a folk song of love collected from the State of Watch in the pre-Qin period of Chinese history, which is one of the most popular poems of The Book of Songs.

That guy comes forth to grin

For silk, cloth he trades in.

No, not for silk comes he

But with mind set on me,

Across the river we wade

And uphill make the grade.

It’s not me that delay,

A match-maker you should pray.

Don’t be disheartened please

Let’s meet in autumn breeze.

That old wall I climb on

That pass to gaze upon.

As the pass is unseen;

My heart does keenly keen.

The pass jumps to appear;

I laugh and shout with cheer.

With reed you now divine:

It’s good luck, a luck fine.

Drive your cart along the road,

With my dower a full load.

Green, green the mulberry trees,

Its leaves do my eyes please

O turtledoves, do not rush

To eat the leaves so lush.

O young ladies, do not haste

To fall in love, though chased.

A man in love may fall,

But can get out after all.

If girls have a love affair,

Ne’er can they get out, ne’er!

The mulberry leaves fall

To dust at Nature’s call.

Since I became your wife,

It’s been three years’ hard life.

The Qi did flood that year

O’er my cart front and rear.

As wife, I have served you,

Have you e’er done your due?

So freak in word or deed,

Is betrayal your creed?

Three years now as your spouse

With heart I’ve served the house.

I toil early and late,

Is such a state my fate?

So changed, so changed you’ve been,

You often vent your spleen.

My brothers don’t know this,

Mocking that I’ve done amiss.

Recalling what I’ve done,

I’m sad, so sad a one.

Love till old, your once swear,

Has sent me to despair.

The Qi from bank to bank

Has made its reaches dank.

I smiled with well combed lock,

As you swore to be my rock.

It was a fast, fast swear

Not to be changed, nowhere.

What’s done can’t be undone,

No one can help, no one!
